Fictional case study

Two peak weeks, one cage plan

A fictional sender doubles its volume for two weeks. The fix is intake, not more vans.

The setup

Two peak weeks, one cage plan

A fictional home-goods sender doubles its daily volume for two weeks around a promotion. The depot has the same belt, the same doors, and no room for a second sort.

Fictional case study

  1. 01

    Cage-level intake

Intake scanned the cage as a unit, so a missing box was found before sorting rather than after the run left.

  2. 02

    First run assigned at intake

Each cage joined a named run at the door, which kept the belt from becoming a waiting room.

  3. 03

    Discrepancy list, same hour

Short picks and damaged boxes went to the sender as a list within the hour, while the cage was still intact.
