Documentation

Data files

Managing shipments.json and cities.json, and running the route validator.

Shipment datasets follow strict geographic and state progression rules (E1-E6).

shipments.json format

Each shipment record contains an id, origin, destination, carrier, mode, status, eta, promised date, progress percentage, weight_kg, value_usd, and an ordered events array.

cities.json format

cities.json maps 'City, CC' strings to lat/lon coordinates, anchor booleans, and label_priority scores used by the lane map on the network page.

Running the validator

tools/validate-data.mjs checks data shape, status distributions, and route logic (E1 origin start, E2 stage sequence, E3 final stage match, E4 real city names, E5 geographic detours <= 1.5x, E6 chronological timestamps).

$ node tools/validate-data.mjs
